The Academy is used to research and upgrade technologies, which allow you to develop faster.

Overview
The Academy is where new technologies are researched and upgraded. Research helps develop your City and army, using Valor or Conquest points depending on the technology.
Upgrading the Academy increases research speed.
Valor points
Defeating monster squads on the World Map earns Valor points. These can be spent on technologies that:
- Upgrade Guardsmen and unlock new troop types.
- Develop the economy and logistics.
- Improve blacksmithing.
- Increase Crypt exploration efficiency.
Conquest points
Fighting other players earns Conquest points. Spend these on technologies that upgrade Specialists or improve your army as a whole.
Researching technologies
Choose a technology and select Research to begin. Research takes time, but you can ask allies for help or use a Speedup to finish sooner.
Most technologies have multiple levels and can be upgraded further.
