Ragnarök: turn Jörmungandr and Fenrir battles into Valor
Build a two-boss plan, spend event coins deliberately and make progress towards your next research unlock.

Why Ragnarök is worth preparing for
Ragnarök is a two-day epic tournament with Jörmungandr and Fenrir battles, separate currencies and a shared shopping opportunity. It is particularly useful when Valor Points are blocking your next research goal: count the Valor packs you can buy as well as the points gained from combat.
Personal goals and shop offers scale with troop progression. Compare rewards in your own division instead of copying another player’s totals.
Jörmungandr: organise the raid
Jörmungandr is a raid target. Coordinate with your clan about departure times, the raid leader and the formation expected from participants. Rewards reflect your contribution, so arriving in a suitable raid matters more than simply filling every available slot.
Amanitore is a common raid choice; compare the active bonuses of your own developed Captains. Equip for the troops and battle type rather than leaving construction or gathering equipment on.
Before the first full raid, decide your recovery budget. Read the report to see which stacks contributed and which were lost before providing useful damage. Change one part of the formation at a time so the next result tells you something.
Fenrir: make your single Captain count
Fenrir permits one Captain per attack. Compare your strongest suitable choices, such as Aydae or Cleopatra, using the actual army bonuses and march capacity. A lower-level “recommended” Captain is not automatically better than the developed one you own.
Inspect the enemy’s surviving troops before launching. Prefer troop bonuses that apply to the current target. Use a small first attack to establish a cost baseline; then compare kills and coins against the recovery bill.
Consider the Fenrir strength bonus in the Jörmungandr shop before committing your main Fenrir budget. Check its duration and cost so the active window covers your attacks.
Build an army you can afford to repeat
Bring combat-ready Guardsmen, suitable monsters and mercenaries whose bonus text applies to epic monsters. Avoid a fixed internet troop count: Leadership, Authority, Dominance, health bonuses and tiers differ between accounts.
If you use several troop stacks, inspect the battle sequence. A stack that disappears before contributing may need resizing. Keep the Captain and bonuses constant while comparing formations. Reserve enough resources to recover important troops after the final attack.
Shop rewards to look for
Availability, quantities and prices depend on your current shop. This is a planning list, not a fixed price table.
| Shop | Rewards to check | Planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Jörmungandr | Fenrir strength bonus; Valor and Experience packs; Dragon Orbs; Captain fragments; clan chests; books | Prepare Fenrir attacks, research and long-term progression |
| Fenrir | Valor packs; Dragon Coins; Silver and resources; Crypt keys and Tar; summoning scrolls; speedups | Convert combat rewards into the next useful upgrade |
| Equipment | Runestones for the Ragnarök Warrior set | Plan a complete crafting requirement before spending |
| Current event offers | Avatar Change item where available | Buy only if it serves an intended Hero change |
Coins carry between events and the shop can be accessed outside the tournament. Saving for a useful purchase can beat spending the remainder on something you do not need.
A Valor-first spending plan
Write down the VP needed for one specific research step. Price the available packs in each shop, then estimate how many more attacks would close the gap. Compare that benefit with the recovery bill.
Keep currencies separate: a cheap pack in one shop does not make the other shop’s coins interchangeable. Buy an attack bonus only when you plan enough further attacks to benefit from it. Do not chase a distant milestone simply because you have already spent resources.
Avoid the old mid-event upgrade trick
Current rules lock shop offers and personal goals for the event; unlocking stronger troops during it does not refresh them. Older guides describing a mid-event shop upgrade should not drive your research timing.
Plan your upgrades with the cost guide and Aurora and Farhad checklist.
Check current requirements in-game before committing troops or resources.
