What your Dragon adds to an army

Your Dragon accompanies eligible marches and improves the army travelling with it. It becomes available once you unlock tier 2 Guardsmen.

BonusWhy it matters
Troop strength and healthImproves the accompanying army’s combat statistics
Leadership, Authority and DominanceImproves the troop-capacity statistics of the accompanying Hero and Captains
Experience, Valor and Conquest pointsAdds the relevant reward bonuses when the battle awards those points

Check the Dragon’s Bonuses tab for your currently active values. The Progress tab previews benefits from the next evolution; those future percentages are not already active. A Dragon does not make every target award all three types of points.

Level up with Dragon Treats

Open the Dragon’s area in your City to reach its feeding screen. Feed it Dragon Treats to raise its level; each new level improves its bonuses. Check the next requirement and bonus before confirming.

Epic-monster battles provide Dragon Treats. Review the rewards from your actual attacks and choose fights your army can sustain. Treats are also available in some store offers, but fighting epics provides a gameplay route to progression.

Captain or Hero Experience is separate from Dragon feeding. Earning Experience during a battle is not a substitute for using Treats on the Dragon screen.

Evolve with Dragon Orbs

Evolution is a separate upgrade using Dragon Orbs. It changes the Dragon’s form and progression benefits. Check the requirements and preview on your own Progress screen before spending: a supply of Treats does not replace the Orbs needed for an evolution.

Pursuit of Evolution is a useful event for obtaining Orbs. While it is active, defeat common, rare and epic monsters to earn Dragon Seals, then use the event’s rewards to obtain Orbs. Goal difficulty depends on your Hero and Captains, so plan around your displayed targets.

Other tournament rewards can also provide Orbs, including Dragon Fair rewards when available. Inspect personal goals and ranking rewards separately. Store offers are another option; first check your saved stock and unclaimed rewards.

Plan the next step, not just the final total

Use the requirement shown in your game if it differs from this reference. The table lists the Orbs required for each individual evolution. It is not a running total. If you need several evolutions, add the relevant rows and subtract your existing Orbs to find the remaining target.

Evolution costs

EvolutionOrbs required
Level 1 → 23,000
Level 2 → 37,500
Level 3 → 422,000
Level 4 → 552,000
Level 5 → 675,000
Level 6 → 7220,000
Level 7 → 8600,000

A worked savings example

Going from evolution 4 to 6 uses the 4 → 5 and 5 → 6 rows: 52,000 + 75,000 = 127,000 Orbs. With 30,000 already saved, the remaining target is 97,000.

Use your actual starting evolution. Adding every row from level 1 would overstate the cost if you have already completed some steps.

Which marches can take a Dragon?

DestinationWhat to check
Epic monster squadsInclude the Dragon in the eligible battle march
Enemy CitiesCheck your attack setup and the Dragon selection
ReinforcementsCan accompany reinforcements to allied Cities, the Clan Capital and forts
Common monster squadsEligible levels depend on your strongest Captain’s level
Rare monster squadsEligible levels depend on your Hero’s level

For common and rare monsters, use the Watchtower’s For the Dragon section to find appropriate targets. A monster you could attack with your Dragon earlier may fall below the eligible level as your account progresses.

These common- and rare-monster marches use Dragon Energy, which replenishes each day. Check your remaining energy and the march requirements in the game before planning a run.

Use your Dragon where it helps most

Treat this as a planning checklist and compare results with your own army:

  • Include the Dragon in eligible epic battles you already intend to fight for useful rewards, including Treats. Check it is selected before launching.
  • When Pursuit of Evolution is active, look for affordable attacks that also advance your Seal goals. Stop and reassess when the next milestone costs more troops than your budget allows.
  • Use daily energy on eligible common or rare targets that serve your current goals. Compare expected rewards and replacement or revival costs rather than choosing the highest level automatically.
  • Recheck troop numbers and formations after an upgrade: the Dragon’s capacity and combat bonuses can change your march setup.
  • Review the battle report after a change. Compare similar targets so a harder opponent does not hide the benefit of an improved Dragon.

Your Dragon cannot die in battle, but the troops accompanying it can still suffer losses. Its presence improves a setup; it does not guarantee a win.

A simple progression routine

  • Check the Bonuses tab and note the next improvement shown in Progress.
  • Feed available Treats when you are ready to raise the Dragon’s level.
  • Set an Orb target for the next evolution using the requirement on your screen.
  • Plan suitable epic battles and check upcoming Orb rewards.
  • Claim earned rewards, update your remaining target and review your march after upgrading.

Keep Treats, Orbs and Dragon Seals separate in your planning: Treats raise levels, Orbs fund evolution, and Seals advance the relevant event reward route.

See the event calendar for estimated dates and confirm the live rules in-game. The troop cost guide helps you budget the army used to earn those rewards.

Check current requirements in-game before committing troops or resources.
