What to save between events—and when to spend it

Give Silver, speedups, Tar and temporary troops a purpose, set a recovery reserve and stop before a reward becomes too expensive.

Save towards a result, not a pile

Choose one near-term goal: finish a technology, improve a Captain or reach a useful event reward. Work backwards from that result to the resources and time it needs. Saving everything indefinitely can slow progress; spending everything because an event is live can leave you unable to use the rewards.

Keep three simple categories in your notes: committed to a plan, held for recovery and available to spend. Do not count the same Silver twice in a training budget and a revival budget.

Give each resource a job

ResourceUseful reason to keep itCheck before spending
SilverTrain a planned army and cover eligible recoveryCurrent training price and actual revival currency
Sacred Potion or GoldRecover troops when the displayed terms require itRecoverable units, timer and value of replacement
SpeedupsFinish a worthwhile action before a real deadlineCorrect speedup type, final timer and current scoring rules
Tar and Crypt itemsComplete exploration towards a material or gem goalCrypt type, access and the total exploration budget
Event currencyBuy a specific useful rewardShop timer, carry-over rules and remaining purchase limits
Temporary troopsSupport a planned target while they remain availableActivation terms, expiry and your ability to support the march

Do not assume Silver revival is always available because it was available during a previous event. Inspect the live recovery screen. The revive or retrain guide helps compare alternatives.

Separate permanent stocks from deadlines

A shop currency, an unopened reward and an activated temporary unit can have different rules. Read the wording on each. Put the earliest genuine deadline at the top of your plan, but do not buy more resources simply to justify using something that will expire.

Ragnarök coins carry between event launches, so they do not require an end-of-event spending rush. Other currencies need their own checks. The fact that one shop preserves its coins tells you nothing about another shop.

For temporary troops, arrange a useful session before activation where the rules allow that choice. Once they are active, use the actual expiry timer and the mercenary checklist.

Use a stop rule before the first attack

Write down the reward you want, your maximum recovery spend and the condition that makes you stop. An example is: make three affordable test attacks, then continue only if the next reward is within the remaining budget.

Worked example: the following points and costs are invented to show budgeting, not a forecast for any event.

You need another 120,000 points for a reward. A comparable test gives about 30,000 points and costs 2 million Silver to recover. Four similar attempts suggest an 8 million Silver budget, before allowing for changing battle conditions. If your discretionary balance is 6 million and your reserve is 4 million, the target is outside the discretionary budget. The reserve is not spare money merely because the progress bar is close.

Recalculate after each attempt. A changing enemy, a different formation or a missed bonus can make the original estimate unreliable.

Combine useful actions with suitable events

When practical, schedule work you already need during an event that rewards it. Regular tournaments can award progress for activities such as research, construction or earning Captain and Hero Experience. Check the current task wording: starting an action and completing it are not necessarily treated alike.

Avoid delaying an essential upgrade for weeks to chase a small additional reward. Compare the benefit of waiting with the progress you lose while waiting.

The calendar is a planning aid with estimated dates. Confirm the event in-game before spending speedups to hit a particular day.

Review after the event

Record what you spent, what you kept and which reward mattered. If recovery repeatedly consumes the whole budget, adjust the formation or target before saving for more attacks.

Use the Guardsmen upgrade checklist when event rewards are funding your next tier. A useful event should move the account towards a plan, rather than creating another unfinished spending commitment.

Check current requirements in-game before committing troops or resources.
