Heroics troop guide

Recommended troop types and excluded monster families for Heroics levels 16–32.

A formation reference, not a guaranteed result

This table helps narrow the troop families for Heroic targets at the listed levels. It does not specify a universal troop count or replace checking the enemy lineup.

Heroic monsters are distinct from the common and epic monsters used in other activities. Do not carry a formation over just because two targets have similar levels.

How to read Send and Avoid

“Send” identifies the troop families recommended in this reference. “Avoid” flags listed types that should not be added automatically. A dash means the sheet gives no extra exclusion; it does not prove that every other unit is a good choice.

Turn the reference into a plan

  • Confirm the Heroic’s exact level and inspect its enemy groups.
  • Check your units’ traits and their bonuses against the target.
  • Select the recommended families for that row.
  • Coordinate the composition with the organiser if using a Clan march.
  • Agree the acceptable loss budget before committing.

For level 32, the preferred formation is not specified here. Do not infer a Send recommendation from the Avoid column alone.

Adjust using battle reports

Keep a note of the target, troop tiers, Captain setup and losses. Compare attacks where those factors are similar. A larger army can hide a poor match-up, while a better Captain can make the same troop count behave very differently.

Change one variable when refining a formation. Otherwise it is difficult to tell which adjustment improved the result.

Keep other activity guides separate

A Citadel attack includes a fortification problem; a Runic Raid has its own entry and composition considerations. Use the matching guide rather than mixing all three tables into one army recipe.

Continue with the Citadel cheat sheet or Runic Raids guide.

Check current requirements in-game before committing troops or resources.
