How to get Helen in Total Battle—and what to upgrade first

How do you get Helen?

Helen fragments are associated with the Triumphal Challenge and Union of Triumph reward routes. Check the current Triumphal shop for her fragments and the Union reward track for the available fragment milestones. Collect enough to meet the unlock requirement displayed on Helen’s Captain card.

Do not assume buying a Golden Pass instantly unlocks Helen. Check the fragment quantities, reward conditions and remaining event time before spending. The practical question is whether the rewards you can actually claim will cover your missing fragments.

Check your route before buying a pass

Open Helen’s card and note how many fragments you have and how many are required. Next, inspect the current Triumphal Challenge shop and the Union of Triumph rewards available to your clan.

• Identify the rewards that specifically show Helen fragments.
• Check any pass requirement on those rewards.
• Check how much currency you have and the limit on purchases.
• Compare the fragments you can obtain with your remaining unlock requirement.

The Triumphal shop uses Trophy Coins earned through battle-pass rewards. Union progress is a separate clan reward system, so do not treat its tokens and shop currency as interchangeable.

Golden and Elite passes are paid options. A pass provides access to its listed rewards, but reaching and claiming the relevant milestones still matters. Avoid relying on an old screenshot for today’s price or reward quantity.

Can you get Helen from ordinary summons?

Do not spend Summoning Scrolls expecting Helen without checking the reward pool shown in your game. Use the specific Helen fragment routes above as your starting point. General advice that “Captains come from summons” does not establish that every Captain is available in every summon pool.

Why is Helen useful?

Helen improves Food production speed and troop training speed. Those bonuses support an army between battles: producing more Food helps your economy, and faster training helps you prepare the next batch.

Food production is not the same as Food already stored in your City. A large stockpile does not, by itself, remove a production-versus-upkeep deficit. Read Food Deficit explained if your troop costs have risen.

What should you upgrade first?

Once unlocked, make Helen useful in your normal training routine before chasing an expensive maximum setup. Raise her level with available Experience and check the resulting Food and training bonuses on her card. Compare the benefit against the other Captains you need for your current goals.

Keep levels, stars and equipment separate in your plan. Experience raises her level; additional fragments support star progression. Equipment and the Chronoglyph are additional parts of the setup, not substitutes for unlocking her.

There is no need to invent a universal target level. If Food balance and training time are your immediate bottlenecks, invest enough to make a measurable improvement, then reassess.

Check the result before training

Activate your intended Helen setup before starting a batch. Select the same troop type and quantity when comparing timers so a larger queue does not hide the improvement.

Check Food balance, the final Silver cost and the training timer separately. If the batch is still too small, read training queue limits; training speed and queue capacity solve different problems.
