What is the Forge for?

The Forge uses materials found in Crypts to craft equipment for Heroes and Captains. Equipment improves their statistics, with different sets providing different bonuses.

Where is the Forge in Total Battle?

Open the Forge using its icon on the lower menu panel. This is a useful shortcut if you cannot identify the building in your City. The building image beside this page’s heading is the Forge reference; the wide illustration is decorative.

Crafting equipment

Crafting an item requires four specific materials. Its cost and crafting time depend on its quality. Allies can help, and Speedups can shorten the wait.

Higher-level equipment provides stronger bonuses. Equipment sets contain six items, and some Heroes receive a bonus for wearing a complete set.

How to combine materials

Open the Forge, switch to Workshop, find the materials section and choose Combine. Select four matching materials of the same type and quality, then use the overlapping-squares control to produce one of the next quality.

If a higher quality is unavailable, check the relevant Blacksmithing research in the Academy. The bulk-combine control requires active Premium; ordinary combining is a separate action.

For example, four identical low-quality pieces become one higher-quality piece, not four. Plan around the recipe you want before combining every material in storage.

Using a mix of material qualities when crafting equipment is different from combining materials. Check the displayed outcome chances before crafting. See equipment crafting priorities.

Gems and Flickering Dust

Disenchant gems to obtain Flickering Dust. The amount received depends on the gem’s quality. Dust is used to craft gems, with higher-quality gems costing more.

Research the relevant Academy technologies to unlock gem crafting.

Level benefits

Upgrading the Forge increases the equipment crafting-speed bonus.
