CP exchanges: earn more Conquest Points for less Silver
Plan a fair exchange, choose a useful army and make the most of Silver revival windows and Olympus Lava Fountains.
By ClanOps · Updated

Agree the exchange before marching
A CP exchange is an arranged battle with another player. The aim is useful Conquest Points at an agreed recovery cost, rather than a surprise attack. Get a clear yes from the other player and follow both clans’ rules before sending anything.
Agree the exact target, start time, army size, number of attacks and when to stop. A report from a previous exchange can demonstrate what worked, but label the troop tiers and bonuses: it is an example, not a guaranteed payout.
Choose troops for the opponent
There is no universal best troop count. The useful army is one that can defeat enough of the agreed opposing troops without making recovery unaffordable.
| Troop choice | When it helps | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Specialists | Player combat, when their listed bonuses match the target | Actual enemy troop types and your research |
| Guardsmen | A readily available core army | Strength, health and replacement cost at your tier |
| Monsters | Extra fighting power within Dominance capacity | Their target bonuses and recovery price |
| Mercenaries | Strong contributions when their abilities suit PvP | Do not assume an epic-monster bonus applies to players |
| Low-tier troops | Small calibration attacks or a host’s requested formation | Sending a large cheap army can still be expensive to replace |
Use a combat Captain whose bonuses support the troops you actually send. Dustan is worth comparing when CP is the objective; a stronger combat Captain may deliver more kills. Compare CP gained per Silver spent, not just the headline CP bonus.
Do one small agreed test. Both players should examine CP, casualties and revival costs before scaling up. For organised clan runs, use the host’s exact formation rather than adding unrelated troops.
Time ordinary exchanges for Silver revival
Ruthless Slaughter is the event to check for Silver revival of eligible attacking casualties. Players often call this a “Silver day”; it commonly coincides with the Ancients’ Treasure stage, but the active revival rule is what matters, not the Ancients label alone.
Thirst for Battle concerns the cost of reviving troops lost attacking players. Do not confuse a cost reduction with permission to use Silver. Check the revival screen after the test battle and recover before any relevant deadline.
Ordinary exchanges can still have permanent losses. Silver revival does not mean every fallen troop can return, and it does not make the exchange free.
Olympus: fight at a Lava Fountain
The Lava Fountain Trial is the third Olympus stage. Arrange an exchange with a player in an opposing clan in your division. A combat setup with a strong Captain, suitable mercenaries, monsters and regular troops can make more sense for this plan than a gathering-only Stror march.
Under the updated Fountain rules, permanent troop losses are removed and previously gathered Lava Oil cannot be stolen. Fallen troops still need recovery; check the Silver option and displayed price before repeating. “No permanent losses” does not mean troops stay alive through the battle.
The newer rules describe recovery costs reduced thirtyfold. Older descriptions still show 90% cheaper recovery and 5% permanent losses, so use the current event panel if your version differs. Each Fountain also has an incoming-attack limit.
Use the event’s dedicated Lava Portals to reach eligible targets. Do not assume a regular portal near a clan boundary, or a clanmate’s portal, is interchangeable with the current event portal. Direct access with Ayrin is another option described by the event rules.
Players report that Fountain attacks preserve the Shield of Peace. Confirm the march warning before sending; this is not permission to attack Cities or ordinary portals without dropping your shield. Oil already gathered is protected, but losing defending troops can reduce subsequent gathering speed.
A simple invitation
“Would you like to arrange a small CP exchange at your Lava Fountain? We can agree the troop size and do one test each, then compare reports before repeating. Current Fountain rules protect gathered Oil and remove permanent losses, but we should both check the recovery screen and attack limit. I can share a recent report with the troop tiers and bonuses shown.”
Keep the exchange fair
Record both players’ CP, Silver spent and remaining troops after each round. Alternate roles if that is what you agreed. Stop if the results or recovery costs differ from the plan. The best exchange is one both players would willingly repeat.

Check current requirements in-game before committing troops or resources.
